Couple Therapy

Are you currently experiencing challenges or difficulties in your relationship? If your relationships is the main area of concern for you then your difficulties are best addressed jointly with your partner. Couple therapy will allow you to understand your behaviour in your relationship better, to develop a better understanding of each other and to consider more effective and positive ways of commmunicating that will help to develop the relationship in more positive ways.


Issues that can be addressed for example include:


  • managing arguments and conflicts 
  • different expectations of the relationship
  • lack of connection or intimacy
  • managing changes and transitions (e.g. having a baby, children moving out, job loss, bereavement)
  • moving through the different stages of relationships
  • having different cultural backgrounds
  • disagreements about the children's upbringing
  • moving on from an affair
  • considering a separation


The focus in couples counselling is on the relationship between you. We will look at the interactions between you, establish where and why you experience difficulties and look at ways to implement positive change in your relationship. 

Individual Counselling & Psychotherapy

There are many different reasons for considering to start therapy. You may be experiencing difficulties that are very familiar to you or you may be facing a new challenge in your life. Counselling/psychotherapy allows you to talk to a professional who gives you their undivided attention and doesn't judge you in any way. We will be looking at thinking, feeling and behaviour patterns, understand where they are coming from and see whether they still serve you well or may require some changes. You will gain a deeper understanding of yourself and the relationships you have with other people. We will clarify what changes you would like to see happening in your life and ways to bring about this change.

  • relationship problems
  • anxiety

  • low self-esteem and confidence
  • loneliness
  • developmental or single event trauma
  • abuse
  • stress or work related issues
  • bullying

  • post-natal depression

Our counselling and psychotherapy is integrative, drawing on a wide range of theoretical approaches.

Coaching

If you have a specific issue that you would like to address rather than explore in more detail you may want to consider coaching. In coaching sessions the focus in on future behavioural change.
